Back to School Cafe 2023

This weekend we had our back to school cafe! This is a tradition we started last year to kick off the new school year! It is a blast and the girls have SO much fun with it! They've been talking about it since last year so they were so excited to do it again.

I always have so much fun decorating the table with a back to school theme! I added the foam letters and mini globe for a little extra fun.

This year, I added in these adorable school supply themed place settings. I was so excited to find them and they were free!

I make a simple menu filled with kid favorites and they get to pick what they want to eat. I think this is their favorite part! Brandan is the waiter, I'm the chef, and we role play being at a restaurant.

As we eat together, we talk about our plans for the upcoming year and finish off by reading our favorite homeschool book, "Mama, Why Am I Homeschooled?"

We usually do our Back to School Cafe the weekend before we offically start a new year. We also do a little first day of school celebration, usually on August 1. I decorate our school room and we enjoy a breakfast treat while reading some of our favorite homeschool books. We also take first day pictures and fill out a printable that I made.
